Amber Auger, MPH, RDH - Courses

I graduated from hygiene school eight years ago, and I recently left my fourth office. I've spent most of those eight years in toxic work environments that normalized substandard care of patients and/or cared more about money than patient treatment. Several times over the last few years, I've questioned if I'm in the right profession. Then I joined Thrive in the Op®. The course content and weekly live discussions with Amber have given me a community of like-minded hygienists looking for something better. I've learned to be comfortable with the uncomfortable of sticking to my elevated standard of care no matter what those around me are doing. It's been a great reminder that I'm in charge of how I use my license and provide care to patients. I'm starting at my fifth office in eight years excited about dentistry again and excited that I finally found an office that aligns with how I want to provide whole-body care to patients. And I'm grateful to have found a community that has supported me through so many different phases of my career.

From refreshers of the basics in hygiene to what we didn’t learn in school, the nitty gritty side of dentistry, Amber’s course taught me to have confidence in growing into the hygienist I want to be. I have found a community of like-minded professionals that support, encourage, and teach. From the one-on- one personal couching for negotiating a worthy contract to book clubs encompasses the span of support you will receive. We are real individuals “that show up like we are” and fill up to be the elevated dental hygienists that dentistry needs.
